Position Summary This position is responsible for assisting the physical therapist in the performance of appropriate activities related to the treatment of the individual patient, assisting in the set-up of basic exercise and aerobic equipment as instructed by and under the direct supervision of the physical therapist. Performing clinic cleaning duties, ordering supplies and assisting in performing clerical duties as requested by the physical therapist. Primary Functions & Accountabilities Assists the physical therapist in the performance of appropriate activities related to the treatment of the individual patient. Performs and responds to the supervising therapist in accordance with the rules and regulations of the APTA. Assists patients in performing the appropriate exercises assigned by and under the supervision of the physical therapist. Assists other clinic staff in the performance of their duties as permitted and under the direct supervision of the physical therapist. Responsible for understanding, preparing, and maintaining exercise and aerobic equipment. Assists in the set-up of basic exercise equipment, aerobic, and all the other basic equipment as instructed by and under the direct supervision of the physical therapist. Demonstrates competency in performance of duties and use of facility equipment under the direct supervision of the physical therapist. Follows policies and procedures pertaining to the care of the equipment and supplies, and reports to the physical therapist any irregularities. Assists in performing clerical duties and office maintenance; orders supplies as requested. Assists with scheduling, answering the phone, and filing. Performs all laundry duties and clean up in the clinic. Performs chart audits as required.
