Personnel Operations Assistant The George Mason University, Office of the Provost, is looking for a part-time, non-student wage assistant to support Personnel Operations with the Provost Administration Team. The various colleges, schools, and institutes rely on the office for constant programmatic support, planning assistance, policy expertise, and exceptional customer service. In addition, the Office of the Provost plays a crucial and high-profile role with the University's governing board, the Board of Visitors. This team is integral in the development, planning, and implementation of academic initiatives and policy that provides critical personnel support for the faculty and central support to the units that connects the Office of the Provost with Mason's academic, administrative and local communities.About the Position:The Personnel Operations Assistant will primarily focus on providing personnel and human resources support for departments in the Academic Administration and Academic Affairs Piers.Responsibilities:Coordinate the hiring and onboarding of part-time employees;Create, route and execute contracts for Faculty;Submit personnel changes for Faculty and Staff as requested for approval;Create and maintain various reports for the Office of the Provost Piers;Monitor personnel and transaction requests in Microsoft Teams;Provide administrative support to the Personnel Operations Team;Assist in ad hoc projects as needed;General office tasks including filing, copying, scanning, faxing, maintaining personnel records, etc., as needed.Required Qualifications:Higher education degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience;Experience working in a high-paced office setting;Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word;Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information;Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment;Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in higher education;Knowledge of Ellucian Banner;Experience using EMC Application Xtender Web Access or similar indexing software systems;Experience creating and editing Adobe Acrobat PDF files.
