Progeny Systems is seeking Cybersecurity Systems Integration / Software Automation Engineer to support the Information Assurance / Cybersecurity program team in Manassas, VA location. The ideal candidate should be able to support the automation of the build and release process including tracking software development efforts targeted for a build and ensuring the associated software is included in the release candidate and checkout of software build release candidates, merging software changes across multiple baselines, working, and working closely with developers, testers, and management to ensure build processes are followed. This includes developing and executing automation for build development, software deployment, and executing automated build check out. The ideal candidate is comfortable developing and deploying software in a Linux environment. This includes comfort with a bare metal Linux installation as well as a containerized Linux environment. Typical work will involve developing software that interacts with core services in Linux or Kubernetes to provide cybersecurity or increased cybersecurity situational awareness to an end user. A good fundamental understanding of security design principles such as least privilege, encryption, and economy of mechanism are important even if experience with cybersecurity software is limited. This position will include development skills as well as a deep knowledge of Linux administration. A current/Active DoD clearance is preferred. The ability to obtain a DoD clearance is required. Duties and Responsibilities * Manage the software build and release process * Develop scripts to build and deploy software releases * Oversee maintenance of source code repository (git) * Plan and manage build release activities and coordinate across multi-site team * Work closely with team to ensure build processes and configuration management (CM) best practices are followed Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * Experience with 2 of the following: C/C++/Java/Python * Experience developing and supporting software for Linux * Experience with 1 of the following: Kubernetes/Docker-Swarm * Understanding of source control, branching and merge strategies. Experience with git is required, experience with gitlab is a plus. * Experience with build automation. Experience with Jenkins, PXEBoot, IPMI, Docker is a plus. * Strong written and oral communication skills * Strong organizational skills, experience with Jira is a plus Education/Experience * 2-8 years of professional/technical experience * BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related degree A current/Active DoD clearance is required. This position requires the applicant to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance.
