Site Name: USA - Pennsylvania - Marietta Posted Date: Apr 25 2022 3rd Shift As a HVAC/Refrigeration Technician, you are responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of facility HVAC/R Systems and Process Refrigeration; as well as operation of site building management systems, SCADA Systems, contractor management, and site project assistance with the engineering department. You will work on residential, commercial and industrial systems, perform filter maintenance/certification activities, and provide complete and accurate documentation. These responsibilities include some of the following: * Install direct expansion air conditioning or refrigeration system components including compressors, coils, valves, regulators, and control systems * Maintain central chilled water systems including chillers, pumps, cooling towers, and control systems * Maintain ventilating equipment including air handling units, exhaust fans, cooling or heating coils, and duct mounted terminal units * Perform air pressurization testing, troubleshooting, and repair for air systems, electronic control devices * Monitor devices including electronic and pneumatic valves and actuators, thermostats, controllers, relays, and transmitters * Use schematic and/or logic diagrams to diagnose control system failures including transmitters, controllers, sensors, switches, and signal converters * Provide maintenance and repair services to support the activities of the Biological Vaccine Production Process * Perform maintenance and repairs on process equipment including: Lyophilizers, Vacuum Systems, Clean In Place Systems, Sterilizers, Process Chillers, Ultra-Low Temperature Freezers, Reach-In and Walk-In Refrigerators and Incubators * Use schematic drawings to diagnose electrical control and motor power circuits to 480 Volts, including variable frequency drive operation, programming and repair * Monitor site building management systems including Air handling filters, Laminar Air Flow Systems, terminal HEPA filters, exhaust air HEPA systems, and Biological Safety Cabinets * Work closely with shift team to achieve goals in a 24/7 cGMP Production Environment * Determine severity, course of action and notify relevant personnel of potential issues, equipment failures, etc. and sequence the actions to be taken during HVAC-R troubleshooting or repair operations * Safely shut down systems or equipment to allow inspection, maintenance, or renovation * Initiate the purchasing process by identifying and specifying replacement parts and materials * Assist validation services with completion of studies and documentation * Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to assigned equipment and make recommendations for maintenance frequencies * Determine the analytical actions to be taken during mechanical and electrical system troubleshooting and repair operations * When assigned to rotating shift work; work independently and without direct supervision to perform normal operating routines and emergency response procedures * Complete all documentation (work order, log books, etc.) * General maintenance work including painting, cleaning of utility areas and minor building repairs * Must be able to work independently on off-shifts and call-ins in order to troubleshoot and repair equipment on an emergency basis. * Perform all job responsibilities in compliance with applicable EHS and GMP regulations, guidelines, policies, standard operating procedures, and industry practice and Industrial Excellence initiatives Why you? Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: * Associate Degree/Trade Certification in a relevant technical discipline * 5+ years of related work experience in the HVAC/R industry OR * 7+ years experience in in the HVAC/R industry/Commercial Refrigeration Service Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: * EPA Universal Technician Certification * Two years experience in a pharmaceutical, food or research facility working with facility regulatory guidelines standard operating procedures is preferred * Lyophilization process including troubleshooting and repair * Basic computer skills * Previous experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Work Order System * The ability to troubleshoot and correct problems with equipment * The ability to operate motor vehicles, forklifts and skid loaders * Demonstrate ability to interpret electrical wiring diagrams, electronic schematics, and engineering drawings * Electrical power and control troubleshooting experience * Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) experience Why GSK?
