Chief Financial Officer (government) corporate office is in Bethesda MD (work partly remote/a few days in the office) Overview Do you have a passion for taking a successful company to the next level? This organization is looking for a senior leader to use his/her financial acumen and leadership skills to develop and implement the right strategies to ensure the financial success of a high-growth company. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will work in concert with, and as a member of, the senior leadership team to guide the strategy of the organization, and to be accountable to them for all finance functions and deliverables. As the CFO you will supervise team members and be accountable to deliver exceptional service of the corporate financial functions while ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal financial laws and regulations. You will be responsible for the full spectrum of Finance functions, including budget development and management, accounting and annual audit, pricing for proposals, procurement, facility leases, payroll, and insurance to ensure FAR, CAS, and Government compliance. Job Responsibilities: Take ownership of the full spectrum of Finance functions, evaluate, and manage financial risks and develop plans and programs to minimize and contain risk exposures. Manage the company's financial plans and policies, accounting practices, maintenance of fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports. Help drive the successful execution of programs by developing prospective programmatic budgets, determining the cost-effectiveness of prospective service delivery. Manage the timely and accurate billing of all contracts and the collection and follow-up on payments. Ensure compliance with General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), contract vehicle compliance (GSA, etc.), Federal Acquisition (FAR) regulations and other regulatory requirements - especially those governing federal procurement. Ensure general accounting, property accounting, internal auditing, cost accounting, and budgetary controls are implemented. Ensure accuracy of indirect cost rates in compliance with federal cost accounting standards. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance Masters degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance preferred Successful track record of five or more years of financial management at the manager/supervisor/CFO level Minimum of 5 years of Federal Government contracting experience, including working knowledge of the FAR Experience with Mergers & Acquisitions Experience working with Unanet, a plus Experience operating a multi-company accounting system Public accounting firm experience preferred Previous experience as a Controller required Exceptional organizational skills; high level of attention to detail. Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance at the public trust level.
