The marketing department is seeking a data analyst intern who can obtain, analyze and present campaign results to marketing leadership and key marketing partners. This information would enable the marketing team and our business partners to understand the most effective tactics, messaging, tools and channels and make more informed decisions for future campaigns. The campaign performance data would be obtained from multiple sources, including Google Analytics and Salesforce. The data manipulation and analytics would typically be completed in MS Excel and the summary report would be prepared in MS Word or PowerPoint. The marketing department partners with various AAMC business units to execute a range of promotional campaigns through multiple channels, including email, social media and the internet. Marketing plays a critical role in ensuring AAMC's various communities and stakeholders are aware and engaged with revenue generating AAMC programs. For each campaign, marketing seeks to analyze the underlying campaign data to understanding the effectiveness of various marketing tactics. The tactics, tools and behaviors associated with this role are fully aligned with the roles and responsibilities of a junior data analyst. The marketing team is prepared to work with a highly capable student with some relevant experience and a passion for a career in data analytics and provide training and relevant work experience to help position this individual for a permanent role at a comparable organization as a data analyst upon graduation. Responsibilities: * Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems * Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports * Filter and "clean" data by reviewing data intensive spreadsheets, identifying problematic records and adjusting records to deliver usable data * Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets * Produce a report that explains the data in a way that helps leadership understand the effectiveness of tools, channels, messaging and tactics. Qualifications: * Highly organized and analytical * Experience managing and manipulating significant amounts of data in Microsoft Excel * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Data visualization and presentation skills * Familiarity with enterprise marketing applications such as Google Analytics, Salesforce or Hubspot etc. * Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, completing assigned tasks within identified time frames * Self-driven, results-oriented professional with a positive outlook Remote Work Eligibility This position may be eligible for remote work.
