The Sovereign Foundation Team within Azure Edge and Platform is responsible for providing infrastructure and application services to internal users in our Sovereign clouds. Azure Edge and Platform is looking for a technical leader within a service engineering team. We are looking for a platform Architect who will help build and run the next generation of our service. The ideal candidate will have strong technical, organizational, and communication skills, a passion for customer service and be able to quickly troubleshoot and resolve issues. The candidate must be self-motivated, able to mentor and coach engineers across organizational boundaries.**Responsibilities**ResponsibilitiesIn this role you will collaborate with cross-discipline teams to solve complex challenges related to sovereign regions. You will be expected to demonstrate the ability to learn and adopt new technologies, tools, methods, and processes from Microsoft and industry.+ You will be part of a diverse team where you will use your social skills to collaborate with internal and external partners.+ Provide support for the implementation and maintenance of IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution.+ Install and update security patches on the operational and development system, maintaining security posture of systems in accordance with customer compliance, with documentation of compliance.+ You will design, build, test, debug, and support code for infrastructure deployments.+ You will take part in design, requirements engineering, development, and technical discussions.+ Mentor junior colleagues+ Contribute to a team culture that embraces diversity and inclusion+ Research and recommend innovative, automated approaches for system administration tasks**Qualifications**QualificationsRequired:+ 8+ years' experience as a System Administrator providing support for the implementation and maintenance of IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution.+ Automation experience using scripting (PowerShell) orARM templates,+ Experience with automation and configuration management frameworks such as terraform, chef, puppet, or ansible.+ Experience with Windows Platform (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Certificate Authority, WSUS)+ Experience in mentoring and coaching engineers+ Network expertise for configuring and troubleshooting connectivity issuesPreferred:+ BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Information Science,Information Technology, or relevant experience.+ 5+ years Demonstrated experience in advanced administration of Windows-based server systems, to include Active Directory.+ Experience with Virtual Desktops+ Experience creating ARM templates and deploying services within Azure+ Extensive experience with Cisco products.+ Familiarity with basic SQL server administration.+ Familiarity with Exchange 2019 administration+ Familiarity with SharePoint 2019 administration+ Experience with STIGs, 800-53 controls and Risk Management Framework (RMF)Candidates selected for this position must comply with Federal Executive Order 14042 mandating that federal contractors and subcontractors receive the COVID-19 vaccine by being fully vaccinated before their date of hire, or work with Microsoft to receive an approved religious or medical accommodation.Security Clearance Requirements: Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
