The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years' experience working in a law firm and/or a legal department of public or private company in the insurance or financial services sector. The Legal Assistant will have the opportunity to become an important part of the General Counsel's Legal and Compliance team at a multinational public company. Location(s): NY-metro area, Washington DC, Raleigh, NC, Greensboro, NC. Travel to these locations will be on an as needed basis. Job Responsibilities Support General Counsel's Legal and Compliance staff to provide legal guidance, analysis and counsel to the business which will require an ability to manage a variety of tasks and projectsAssistance with board of directors materials and agendas, including proficiency on board software; assist with other corporate board workAssist with preparation of regulatory filings for the parent company and subsidiary companiesProvide assistance to all operating groups within the Company's organizational structure as directed by the Legal and Compliance managers on all matters typically falling within General Counsel's office, including corporate transactional work, governance and compliance matters, privacy matters and other regulatory mattersAssist Compliance function within the General Counsel's team with organizational skills and substantive review of policies and other governance documentsHandle regulatory filings, corporate board work and general administrationAssist with organization of company corporate records, including proficiency on legal entity softwarePerform legal research of statutes and regulations and provide summariesAssist with employment matters, including support for health and welfare plans Required Skills/Experience 5+ years' experience working at a major law firm and/or a legal department of a public or large private companyAbility to manage many tasks and pivot from one project to another as requestedExcellent communication (written and verbal), organization, and analytical skills Ability to work effectively with senior officers and directors on a regular basisProficiency in Microsoft Office Applications Desired Skills/Experience Proficiency on board software (eg, Boardvantage) and other corporate organization software (eg, Diligent)Ability to work independently and collaboratively with individuals at all levels of the organizationIn-house experience is beneficialInsurance/Reinsurance industry experience is beneficial Education Four-year college degree is required The Company Arch Capital Group Ltd. is a Bermuda-based company which provides insurance, reinsurance and mortgage insurance on a worldwide basis.
