Development Coordinator The George Mason University, College of Health and Human Services is launching a search for a Development Coordinator to support the Development Office. Philanthropic support is garnered through active engagement with alumni, friends, parents, corporations, and foundations to secure gifts through a strategic process of identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.About the Position: The Development Coordinator will provide administrative support to the Director of Development and day-to-day administrative support for the office to include calendar/scheduling, purchasing, reconciliations, gift reports and general office functions. This will include coordination between the Dean's Office and Development Office to support donor meeting and activities including material preparation (background) for donor meetings. The Development Coordinator will provide administrative support for internal and external special events which will include external facing engagements with alumni and donors. The Development Coordinator will provide support for the CHHS student scholarship program to include serving as a liaison with the and (OSA) and Office of Financial Aid to maintain accurate scholarship agreements and distribution of foundation fund to student accounts.Responsibilities:Development Administrative SupportProvide administrative support to the Director of Development to include calendar/scheduling, creating agendas, note taking and distribution of meeting notes, meeting coordination, briefings and preparation materials;Acts as entry point of contact for the development office and handles inquires and questions with professionalism and helpfulness;Support day-to-day general office functions to include financial reporting for foundation accounts, purchasing, reimbursements and reconciliations; andUtilize University systems to aid the development team for travel arrangements and with procurement needs as applicable (Sodexo Catering system, Food and Beverage Forms, Payment Request Forms, etc.).StewardshipUtilize the GMUF donor database system (Salesforce) to aid in weekly and monthly gift reporting;Provide notification of new gifts to appropriate individuals and offices to include the Dean and department chairs and directors;Generates thank you letters and utilizes donor database to track timely acknowledgements;Coordinates and schedules thank you visits for the Dean, Development Director, and Department Chairs and Directors; andSupport accurate and timely record keeping for alumni, donors and friends using appropriate donor database.Events and Special ProjectsAssist with planning, promotion and coordination of development and college events to include student and faculty recognition, speaking engagements, retreats for Deans and Directors; Staff retreats; andProvide onsite support and monitoring when needed. Scholarship CoordinationWorking with development office and OFA review and update all scholarship per donor agreements and upload to AcademicWorks;Collaborate with OFA and OSA to ensure applicants align with donor intent, document in academic works student awards recipients;Coordinate with OSA for development office availability for Q & A during selection process;Notify student recipients via AcademicWorks, issue vouchers to OFA; andCollect and distribute to donors the student thank you letters, holiday cards and entry activity in donor database. Required Qualifications:Well organized and detail oriented along with ability to prioritize tasks;Able to work independently and as a team player to implement effective systems and processes for the office;A proven record of managing calendars, scheduling meetings and general tracking, prioritizing and follow-up of office tasks and projects;Proficient Microsoft Office Suite skills and database management skills such as Qualtrics;Experience with coordination and management of special events;Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) for working with colleagues and external facing constituents;Familiarity with online accounting software; andAbility to maintain confidentiality in all matters related to the development office including foundation accounts, donor communications and donor relations.
