Manager, Product Management, Small Business Card, Customer Acquisition

Small businesses are the backbone of America and a vital part of the economy as a whole. For Capital One's Small Business Credit Card (SBC) division, we aspire to be the leading small business purchasing program in the United States. This is supported by our passion to help small businesses succeed and drive to fuel the courageous entrepreneurial spirit among our Small Business customers and our Associates.

We recently released a brand new charge card product for small business owners that allows business owners to maximize their rewards for their growing business without having to proactively manage a credit line.

We are looking for a Product Owner who can work directly with our design team and our engineers to enhance the application experience for new small business owners. You will enable our Small Business customers to make real-time business decisions to drive growth.

In this role you will work within a cross-discipline team consisting of engineers, designers, business analysts, as well as external customers to create and deliver a thoughtful strategy.

On any given day you'll be:
  • Important. Our applications are viewed by thousands of business owners every day! We need someone to help enhance and streamline this application experience to better enable busy business owners to get the right card product for their business needs.
  • Empowered. We are looking to you to evaluate strategic options, viability, make the recommendation on path forward - and then deliver against that strategy.
  • Human-focused. Always consider our problems from the human and work backwards into a technological solution that solves those problems.
  • Learning constantly. Work deeply with credit analysts, technologists, partners and data scientists to build cutting edge solutions that delight our customers through empathy, critical thinking, and listening for unspoken needs.
  • Inspired by data. Leveraging data to track success in our products as well as enhancing the real-time product decisions that benefit our customers and stakeholders.
  • Sharing openly. Telling stories that change the way people think about building products and solving problems, and that illustrate the power of what software can do to make them even better.
  • Succeeding strategically . Solving the right problem now and deprioritizing the wrong one; knowing when to say no, and when to say an enthusiastic yes.

Here is what you will bring to the table:
  • Communication . You can communicate complex ideas clearly, your team knows their priorities and why they're doing what they're doing. Maybe you're an introvert, or maybe you're an extrovert, but nobody accuses you of keeping them out of the loop.
  • Curiosity. You ask why, you explore, you're not afraid to blurt out your crazy idea, or deep dive into customer data patterns.
  • Passion. You care about growing others and bringing them together around what's possible. There are certain topics that make your eyes light up in conversation.
  • Collaboration. You're comfortable moving through mathematical, technical, and strategic conversations, bringing groups together with different perspectives, but all reaching for the same goal.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 3 year of product management experience or at least 3 year of experience in product design, agile delivery, business analysis, data science, or software engineering

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • MBA or Master's degree
  • 2+ years of experience in Agile product management
