Athletic Services Procurement Director The George Mason University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics invites applications for a full-time Athletic Services Procurement Director. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.Responsibilities: Purchasing Agent Comply with all Commonwealth of Virginia and university procurement policies; Work with coaches and vendors to forecast and identify purchasing needs for all ICA teams; andInvestigate, evaluate, and write specifications for the purchase of athletic equipment and apparel. Supervision of Equipment and Laundry Rooms Schedule room hours and supervise staff. Contract Administration Develop and maintain positive working relationships with vendors; Oversee receiving and shipping; and Serve as embellishment coordinator. Required Qualifications: Degree in sports management, sports administration, logistics/supply chain management or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field; Successful (efficient and organized) athletic procurement experience with or at the university level; Experience in evaluating and selecting athletic equipment and apparel with or at the university level with adherence to team requirements and fiscal management; Successful experience developing and maintaining positive working relationships with a diverse population of student athletes, colleagues and suppliers; andAbility to safely and independently move 50 pounds. Preferred Qualifications:Experience with eVA (Commonwealth of Virginia procurement system);Experience with ordering and maintaining equipment for the sport of basketball at the Division 1 level;Experience with evaluating requests for proposal and vendor selection;State and local purchasing experience; andCertification with AEMA (Athletic Equipment Managers Association).Employment offer is contingent on meeting eligibility requirements for operating state-owned vehicles.
