Requirements Marketing Specialist, Office of Technology Commercialization - Georgetown University The Marketing Specialist is critical to the success of the Office of Technology Commercialization and is responsible for working with managers to become familiar with new and existing technologies, conducting research to find prospective licensees and making initial and follow-up contact with prospective licensees. As part of this outreach, the Marketing Specialist will organize and participate in marketing events and conferences, as well as coordinate the preparation and production of marketing material. Additionally, the Marketing Specialist is responsible for maintaining industry contact information and technology marketing history in a database. Successful marketing of the University's intellectual property is crucial to licensing and commercialization of the IP. Duties include but are not limited to: Generates marketing materials for technologies - such as techbriefs, cover letters and informational packages, etc. Identifies targeted companies and appropriate contacts to whom marketing materials are to be sent Develops and executes technology marketing campaigns with input from inventors and licensing managers. Produces and updates technology materials for OTC website and use at tradeshows and other events Drafts confidentiality agreements for use with interested potential licensees as appropriate with oversight from OTC licensing professionals. Assembles technology bundling packages for targeted marketing Obtains and records feedback and results of marketing campaigns on technologies Maintains and updates technology listing and other OTC promotional information on websites and social media Supports activities pertaining to the overall promotion of the OTC Work Interactions The Marketing Specialist reports to both the Senior Director in OTC and the VP for Technology Commercialization. This position works closely with licensing managers in the development of marketing strategies for new and existing technologies that are part of the OTC portfolio. The Marketing Specialist also interacts directly with prospective licensees Qualifications An advanced technical degree, preferably in life sciences - in combination with either a business degree and/or 2 years of experience/training in marketing early stage technologies Work Mode: Hybrid 3 Days.
