Principal Project Manager

As a Project Manager at Capital One, you will drive strategy and execute on high priority projects for the company. You will work with smart and passionate people to deliver results that have a direct impact on the company's bottom line. You will take on important and exciting responsibility from day one, working with key stakeholders across the company. This role is within the Enterprise Data Strategy Program Management Office (PMO), responsible for supporting and coordinating corporate-wide data-related initiatives (workstreams) impacting Capital One's customers and associates. We are looking for a Project Manager who is process focused and highly organized to join our fast paced, motivated team. This individual will require excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to change quickly. General Responsibilities:
  • Engage with program senior leadership to provide:
    • Critical communications and reporting, driving transparency into program initiatives.
    • Change management support, enabling adoption of new products and processes.
  • Maintain and facilitate program standards, practices, and governance, including:
    • Effective documentation of workstream scope and progress against program initiatives.
    • Cross-functional partnership with program stakeholders to escalate risks, changes, or delays.
    • Program project plans managed in cooperation with workstream leadership to identify dependencies.
    • Adjustments to documentation to reflect changes resulting from a complex dynamic environment.
  • Influence leadership decisions and drive prioritization where needed by providing insights.
  • Build relationships and collaborate with key workstream and line of business stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of commitments.
  • Leverage problem solving and influencing skills to ensure program plans deliver on strategic intent.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Military experience
  • At least 2 Years Project Management experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of Project or Program Management experience
  • PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong problem solving and influencing skills
