Job Description

The reporter for The Home You Own will play a significant role in crafting the editorial strategy of an expanding coverage area focused on empowering readers to make smart decisions about their homes.

We are seeking an experienced reporter who can write with authority to anchor this broad topic area. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the subject matter, spotting trends and developing story ideas based on those trends. Successful applicants will have a track record of delivering quick and creative stories with a conversational tone. They should be comfortable writing news stories, explainers, service pieces and other features under the broad umbrella of home maintenance, organization and improvement. We expect this reporter to have a high journalistic metabolism and write frequently.

This position is based in our Washington newsroom.
