Duties

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a new, first of its kind, cross-Department coordination center, working collaboratively throughout DHS to advance this critical mission set.

Under the direction of the Training Section Chief, support CCHT human trafficking training development and delivery.

Assist in the development of a phased approach to improving DHS human trafficking related trainings.

Develop training evaluation tools to ensure training materials, programs and trainers are current, accurate, and effective.

Manage logistics of trainer participation in external trainings such as conferences and webinars.

Work with the curriculum development manager to ensure content is prepared and trainers are identified for upcoming trainings.

Manage online webinars including promotion, registration, software, and feedback.

Work with the strategic communications team to promote CCHT hosted trainings to target stakeholders.

Develop, track, and refine trainings metrics.

Ensure that training milestones and goals are met while adhering to approved training budget.
Identify relevant external human trafficking trainings to share with CCHT collocated personnel.

Assist in planning the internal DHS human trafficking symposium.

Ensure that training milestones and goals are met while adhering to approved training budget.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Conditions of Employment

  • Must be a current Department of Homeland Security employee
  • Must have supervisory approval to apply to the Joint Duty Assignment.
  • Must NOT have any pending/outstanding disciplinary actions
  • Must have achieved a minimum of "meet expectations/proficiency" on latest performance appraisal/evaluation
  • Must be currently at the grade level of the detail. *No Temporary Promotion Opportunity*
  • The program does not apply to members of the Military service or contractors.

Qualifications

Qualifications required:
  • Experience coordinating a training program from content to logistics for both in person and virtual environments.
  • Experience in developing SOPs and/or project plans and metrics.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills to manage trainers, content, and trainings under short deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to devise and implement creative solutions.

    If the position requires a security clearance, employees must have a SECRET or TOP SECRET clearance to placement AND must maintain that level of clearance while performing in the position.

    Selected applicants for a JDA are requested to fulfill the items below during the JDA:
  • Complete the DHS Training Course 15 days prior to the arrival to the JDA.
  • Complete the DHS Joint Duty Assignment Progress Plan to include:
    • Phase 1: Establish assignment objectives within the first 30 days of the JDA.
    • Phase 2: Complete a self-assessment of the duties performed at the mid-point of the JDA.
    • Phase 3: Complete a final review within the last 30 days of the JDA.
  • Complete 12 hours of professional development using Skillsoft courses, videos, and books in conjunction with the established assignment objectives for the JDA.
  • Attend each of the DHS Joint Duty Program Director's quarterly webinars (1 hour per quarter).
