Westat has an immediate opening for an Assistant PC Technician to assist with installing computer equipment and setting up workstations on our Rockville and Gaithersburg campuses.
The ideal candidate will:
· Follow work schedule within MS Dynamics to provide Laptops and accessories to Westat staff promptly
· Assist with large scale inventory
· Perform equipment inventory
· Decommission equipment
· Perform large scale imaging of laptops and tablets
· Package equipment for distribution for shipping or in-house kiosk
· Ship laptop equipment via FedEx, including tracking equipment and keeping users informed
· Install laptop equipment in Westat offices when necessary
· Deliver kiosk laptop equipment at Westat locations
· Identify computer related problems and repair them
· Perform imaging on laptops, desktops, and tablets with Ghost, MDT, and Paragon
· Be able to lift 50 lbs.
· Must have a valid driver's license to operate company vehicles
· Travel to Westat trainings to repair or set up equipment such as data Projectors, Audio speakers, and provide electrical power set-up
· Support project and corporate staff with any questions or implementations needed regarding their equipment
· Ship and Track equipment through the FedEx website
· Create work case assignments using designated software such as Microsoft Dynamics
· Interact with Westat's project and corporate staff to resolve any hardware/software computer issues
· Other duties as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
• A High School Diploma or GED is required to apply
• Must be able to work at our Rockville and Gaithersburg, Maryland offices
• Must be available to work Monday - Friday between 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
• Must be able to work full-time, 40 hours per week
• Must have at least one year of prior experience installing computer equipment in an office setting (Laptops, desktops, and accessories)
• Be able to pass a driver's background check
These assignments are temporary hourly positions. Benefits are based on hours worked and tenure.
