Duties

  • You will serve as team leader and is responsible for assigning segments of the project to other participants, coordinating the efforts of the team and consolidating individual efforts into completed products.
  • You will provide oversight and guidance to subordinate command N6 staffs to identify new C5I system readiness requirements, project management goals, planning and execution, and near and long term budget submissions
  • You will maintain oversight on system Life Cycle Management.
  • You will participate in activities related to the development and operational testing, prioritization, scheduling, and fielding, integration, sustainment, maintenance, repair, and removal of C5I systems aboard naval surface ships.
  • You will participate in activities related to the development and operational testing, prioritization, scheduling, and fielding, integration, sustainment, maintenance, repair, and removal of C5I systems aboard naval surface ships.
  • You will develop, review, update, and promulgate COMNAVSURLANT C5I operational readiness policies and procedures and updates/revises existing procedures.
  • You will lead the CNSL N6 efforts in the capital planning and departmental budgets for N6.
  • You will administer implementation of approved C5I material and operational readiness programs and projects.
  • You will conduct research and special study projects to resolve problems, change procedures or evaluate concepts.
  • You will work under the direct supervision of Assistant Chief of Staff, a military officer (06).
  • You will develop and assign goals and objectives to supervisors and managers of subordinate organization units.
  • You will analyze benefits and costs of accomplishing work in-house versus contracting; recommends whether to contract.
  • You will identify requirements, plans for, organizes and distributes authorized personnel resources.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

Experience with U.S. Navy surface ship casualty reporting systems.

Mastery knowledge of U.S. Navy surface ship C5I material and readiness operations.

Experience in monitoring and coordination of the management and execution of command and directorate business activities, critical support services, and long-range strategic planning across a major Multi-mission Military Command.

Mastery level skills in oral and written communication techniques to develop position papers as well as develop and present information convincingly to audiences, including outside agencies and private sector representatives with divergent and conflicting views on issues involved.

Mastery level knowledge of all aspects of CSI mission, tasks, functions, governing directives, instructions and associated policies and regulations to conduct staffing requirements, and manage N 6 C5I Material and Operational Readiness functions and Surface Warfare.
