Duties

Plans, directs, and supervises staff in the activities of a large resale food operation to include Lead Cook, Cooks, Food Service Workers, Cashier Checkers and Recreation Aid (Beverage Carts) (30). Responsible for employee motivation and training to ensure the wants and needs of the customer are consistently exceeded. Responsible for proper scheduling of staff for clubhouse special functions requirements and satellite snack stands. Ensures that all standard operating procedures for sales and internal cost controls are in place and consistently utilized. Manages the long and short range of staffing needs to ensure each customer outlet is staffed adequately. Researches new products for cost/profit benefits. Monitors the ordering and receiving program (Prime Vendor and FoodTrack system.) Continually works to ensure correct handling to minimum china and glassware breakage and food waste (portion control). Supervises staff on proper sanitation practices and ensures the cost center is in compliance with current hospital guidelines. Monitors food operation service contracts for refrigeration, electrical and supplies. Procures both Resale and Supply items using Government IMPACT card for both the Cafeteria and Lounge operations. Using the FoodTrak software, performs inventory maintenance to include weekly purchase recaps and EOM inventories for both Cafeteria and Lounge operations. Works under the close supervision of the Assistant General Manager who provides instructions when performing new or procedurally complex duties. Supervisor is available to deal with unusual situations which may occur and to provide necessary guidance and instructions. Routine work is performed independently. The supervisor checks the work to ensure compliance with procedures and directions. Management reviews are quarterly and he supervisor ensures the required training is received.

  • Must possess experience which provides knowledge of cash handling procedures and sales operations such as; receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit and use of cash accountability control methods.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have six months experience as a cashier or in accounting and handling large amounts of cash. Must have experience, which provides basic knowledge and understanding of a large customer base leisure operation. Must be willing to work split shifts and/or long hours. Successful completion of a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) is required.
