Registered Nurse (RN) - Hospice Inpatient Unit

Overview:Registered Nurse (RN)-Hospice Inpatient Unit initiates and maintains the care plan for patients in the acute care setting based on decisions and wishes that have been established by the patient and their families. The RN-IPU focuses upon symptom management while addressing all other healthcare needs. The RN-Hospice IPU works closely with the in-patient team to provide support to patients and their families.Location: Aldie, VASchedule: (3) 12 Hour Night ShiftsCOVID-19 vaccine required to be completed upon start.Responsibilities:Provides quality nursing care via nursing process, patient and family education, and documentation. The RN- Hospice IPU is responsible for supervising LPNs, CNAs, Unit Secretaries, and Volunteers, as applicable. May be asked to rotate to other regions/departments.Qualifications:Experience RequirementsMust have one year of staff nurse experience in a comparable setting/unit. Hospice and/or palliative care experience is strongly preferred.Education RequirementsMust have a degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program. A BSN degree is preferred.Required Certificates and/or LicensesMust have licensure from the governing body for practice for the District of Columbia, State of Maryland, and/or the Commonwealth of Virginia, based on the state/jurisdiction of practice. Licensure from a compact state is acceptable. Healthcare Provider BLS (CPR) is required to practice in the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia. A CHPN certification is a plus.Driver's LicenseMust have a driver's license in good standing and access to a vehicle during working hours.
