Wire Design & Install Engineer 3
PDS Tech is seeking a Wire Design and Install Engineer for an open position in Manassas, VAJob responsibilities: Develops and maintains cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs.Analyzes results and performs design reviews.Develops and maintains electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs (eg, equipment racks, power panels, cable routing and geometry, antennas).Provides engineering design disposition on discrepancies (eg, rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests).Documents processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities.Develops basic statements of work.Participates in technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.Analyzes functional and physical input to assure development of complete integrated design.Works under general direction. Minimum Requirements: Education: BSEE or equivalent technical degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience or MS with 2-4 years of relevant experienceProven experience with wire harnessing and design, including testExperience interpreting electrical schematicsExperience with part selection and component trade studiesProficient with CAD modeling of harness assembliesUnderstands calibration techniques for electrical testing of equipment and cablingProficient using EDA toolsExperience with test planning and executionExperience with test procedure development and documentationProficient using electrical test equipment including oscilloscopes, waveform generators, DMMs, and logic analyzersStrong analytical skills and ability to debug complex systemsProcess oriented and familiarity with problem tracking systemsAbility to communicate effectivelyAbility to work independently and deliver on schedule commitmentsCandidates must be willing to work on-site at the Manassas, VA facility as neededCandidates must be US Persons (US Citizen or a Permanent Resident/Green Card Holder) Desired Requirements: Candidates will perform all work on-site at the Manassas, VA facility Candidates will have experience in some of the following areas: Aircraft avionicsExperience with Mentor Graphics Capital toolBlock diagramming with Microsoft VisioExperience supporting the manufacturing process from requirements through build and testExperience designing and/or testing analog power electronics, including 28VDC systems and 115VACFamiliarity with high voltage power systems for electric aircraft propulsionExperience with environmental qualification and stress testing of hardwareFamiliarity with high speed digital electronics, including serial data hardware interfacesIPC-620AS50881DO-160, DO-178 or DO-254ARP4761, ARP4754MIL-HDBK-516MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704PDS Tech, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
