Greenberg Traurig (GT), a global law firm, has an exciting full-time employment opportunity for a Business Director of our Northern Virginia office. Position Summary: The Business Director will manage the daily operations and administration of approximately 50 attorneys and 35+ business staff employees for the Northern Virginia (Tysons Corner) office. The Director will closely collaborate with the office's Managing Shareholders, the firm's Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Financial Officers to support and reinforce the culture, provide strong leadership for the strategic initiatives, and implement firm-wide objectives. Duties & Responsibilities: Collaborates with Managing Shareholder, Talent Services, and other Business Directors to ensure consistent practices/procedures in the office Collaboratively manages accounting/finance/revenue management functions of the office; develops and oversees office budgeting Partners with the talent services (human resources) and talent acquisition (attorney recruiting) teams to attract, retain, and develop the offices talent Continually reviews staffing levels to maintain effective secretarial staffing ratios and monitors paralegal usage and workflow as needed Assists with integrating new attorneys, including lateral partners, into the firm; for departures, completes attorney departing procedures Liaisons with the marketing, technology, records management, and facilities team to provide the highest degree of client service in the office Assists with expansion and renovations efforts and office space planning; manages office assignments and relocations Directly engages where and when needed to support office operational functions, including mail/copy centers to ensure office needs and services are met Provides practice support to various departments in the office by working with Shareholders and Associates on staffing, technical and procedural needs relating to the individual practices Creates and fosters a collegial environment of teamwork and esprit de corps Skills & Competencies: Business acumen must include uncompromising integrity, sound leadership experience, and the ability to effectively manage change Ability to apply financial information in a dynamic business environment to not only keep fundamentals strong, but to influence positive change Proven success in working well, being influential, and communicating effectively with senior leadership and staff, including presenting ideas in a clear, succinct manner Highly motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver on-time work products Adapt to a fast-paced, high pressure environment to achieve business goals and objectives Analytical with strong problem-solving skills, takes initiative and uses good judgment, excellent follow-up skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), professional demeanor, and presentation Qualifications & Prior Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Organization Development, or related field required Minimum of 10 years of experience in a management or leadership position in a professional services organization Strong business experience in accounting, finance, human resources, marketing, technology, and facilities management Proficiency with Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook Exceptional computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly Greenberg Traurig is an Equal Opportunity Employer and committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
