The Executive Director of Association Sales (ED) is responsible for driving customer sales and deepening engagement across the association. Job Description The Executive Director of Association Sales (ED) is responsible for driving customer sales and deepening engagement across the association, to include both new customers and new products/services for existing Y customers. This is inclusive of products and services as well as integration with leaders in development and talent acquisition to improve lead closure. The ED will lead sales strategy, execution, assessment, training, and culture for the organization. Using creative, analytical, and collaborative approaches, the ED will identify opportunities to grow membership/enrollment and to build the Y's capacity to be an effective sales organization. In the context of Y operations, an effective sales strategy builds not only the Y's financial sustainability but also its ability to effectively accomplish its social mission. Primary Relationships: . Direct report to VP, Operations . Indirect report to Chief Marketing and Brand Experience Officer . Strong working relationships with product line leaders across the association Qualifications EDUCATION . BA/BS degree in a relevant field (preferred) or equivalent relevant work experience in a retail environment EXPERIENCE . 5+ years experience in a consumer-facing role focused on sales . Demonstrated track record of management and conversion of leads, closing new sales, and cross-selling of existing customers . Significant experience providing sales training and development to sales and non-sales professionals . Effective use of sales management and performance systems to drive success . Use of analytics to drive strategies and tactics . Demonstrated track record of successful collaboration with leaders from marketing and operations functions . Supervisory experience (preferred) SKILLS . Strong technical skills related to the sales function . Fluency in managing and identifying insights from data . Creativity to identify new opportunities and approaches . Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing . Initiative to work independently and proactively, needing minimal supervision in a fast-paced, high volume environment . Strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration in a fluid, matrixed organization . Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community Essential Functions . Collaborate with leaders in marketing and operations to develop and refine the association's strategy for new customer acquisition . Develop and execute strategies to engage existing Y customers to utilize additional programs, services, and experiences offered by the Y . Define metrics of success and implement approaches to measure progress, disseminate information, establish goals, and respond to data related to the sales process. Analyze trends and adjust rapidly according to seasonality or other factors . In conjunction with marketing, monitor market trends and provide key input for operations and marketing regarding refinements to programming, messaging, pricing, and other considerations to optimize new customer acquisition . Drive sales through all channels by engagement, conversion, and capture of all prospects and leads . Identify and engage underdeveloped and new markets for sales growth . Demonstrate strong interest and credible expertise in the Y's array of programs and experiences, and translate this knowledge into value for our customers and prospective customers . Establish a sales training program and provide ongoing coaching and training to operations leaders and others in the field to build and maintain an organizational sales culture and competency . Activate other key stakeholders (volunteers, partners, donors, associates, etc.) to engage successfully in the sales process . Evaluate the need for additional dedicated associates to provide support, and manage/influence these resources as appropriate . As a senior leader of the Y, contribute substantially to organizational as well as individual goals . Assist and lead in other ways as assigned
