Your Role As a Gensler Interior Designer within the Sciences Practice Area, your job is to combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients. You have exceptional design skills, a background in architecture or interior design, and a portfolio of innovative design concepts. With you as part of the design team, interiors have never been so engaging. What You Will Do * Partner with clients in biotech, pharmaceuticals, and other sectors engaged in science-based R&D to develop design solutions that focus on the human experience * Perform interior design assignments that include interpreting client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning, customer journey mapping and construction documentation * Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, fixtures, finish palettes, and lighting * Generate floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, finish plans, elevations, details, specifications, and material selections needed for construction * Design and detail fixtures * Provide design support and documentation during completion and execution of design concepts * Work with external consultants, product representatives, and fabricators * Collaborate with our architects, strategists, brand and digital experience designers to create holistic design solutions Your Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field from an accredited school * 5+ years of interior design experience * NCIDQ certified * Proficient in Revit, SketchUp, and other computer design programs (AutoCAD, Rhino, 3D Studio Max, Grasshopper) * Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) * Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications * Graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas * Interest in designing Sciences spaces and laboratory planning required; experience delivering projects in the Sciences field a plus For more information about our Government & Defense practice, visit us here: * This is not a remote role, we look forward to working with our new Designer in our incredible Baltimore office.
