Job Announcement

Manages oversight and coordination of monthly reconciliation of financial records, bank deposit for the Department of Housing & Community Development (DHCD) programs. Under direction of an Accountant II, applies their knowledge of basic accounting skills to perform general financial duties, such as fiscal administration of bank data reconciliation, preparation of journal entries, and reporting work related to the Internal Service Fund programs. Provides the primary administrative duties to include pickup checks sent to lockbox and DHCD, deposit checks into remote deposit bank account and record receipts into county system. Specifically, this position is responsible for posting of daily receipt and reconciliation of periodic data using Yardi tenant management system and FOCUS system. Coordinates preparation and distribution of monthly reconciliation packages for Finance Division. Prepares and posts cost allocation of Internal Service Fund initial cost to various funds after previous month close for HCD overhead and maintenance costs. Reconciles daily and monthly bank data and prepares correctional entries for posting by Accountant II. Duties also may include monitoring daily activities and receipt in FCRHA bank accounts, and coordination of reconciliation of unrecorded checks and ACH data noted via central Finance bank file. Serves as the Finance Division coordinator for office supplies and basic administrative duties.

Note: The assigned functional areas of this position are: general office administration, financial management and accounting.

Employment Standards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to high school graduation and three years of experience providing administrative support in the assigned functional area(s).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite and MS Teams
  • Three years of increasingly complex technical admin experience in the assigned functional area or within financial management
  • Excellent communication and personal skills
  • Experience in the areas of A/P, A/R, Bank reconciliation and coordination of month-end closing activities
  • Experience utilizing electronic records systems
  • Experience working for state, federal or local government
  • FOCUS, Yardi and related software experience a plus


NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check to the satisfaction of the employer.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Job is generally sedentary in nature. Visual acuity is required to read data on a computer monitor. Incumbent must be able to operate keyboard driven equipment and computer. Ability to communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee may be required to lift up to 15 lbs. (all duties) and may be required to carry required supplies to and from meeting locations . All duties may be performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
