About the Team Help us expand our product offering to better support US Federal customers by deepening Workday's product capabilities to meet Federal Financial Management System requirements. We work together with scrum teams to define, craft, and develop the product features. We collaborate with teams across Workday to synthesize the end-user experience for these features. We engage with customers to identify product solutions. About the Role As a Principal Product Manager, you will lead a dedicated team of product managers to identify, specify, and prioritize features through direct partnership with customers, researchers, designers, developers, and your knowledge of the domain. You will define roadmap themes and focus areas of investment in conjunction with senior leadership and ensure they are coordinated with the feature prioritization of the teams. Engaging with engineering leaders, you will deliver on the product roadmap. You have the ability to understand and make decisions in a highly competitive market. Above all, you will serve as an evangelist for our solutions in the market, by supporting product marketing, and also directly with our customers. The capability to influence without authority within a highly matrixed environment and a passion for continuous improvement will be instrumental to success. About You Basic Requirements 7+ years product management or consulting experience 5+ years product owner experience or working closely with product managers to translate customer and market needs into product results and release support through the entire product lifecycle 10+ years experience supporting, implementing, and/or developing federal financial management systems BA/BS in Computer Science, Accounting, or equivalent. MBA or Master's degree is a plus Other Qualifications In depth knowledge and understanding of federal financial management requirements, processes, and regulations how federal agencies, the Office of Management and Budget, and the Department of Treasury interpret and apply these concepts to the real-world operations of the Federal government A focus on user-centric design, creativity, data, research, and well-honed judgment to ensure you're passionate about making the biggest difference to our users Someone who thrives in a fast paced, constantly evolving atmosphere Good problem-solving skills and the capacity to think strategically Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate to various partners and people of diverse technical ability Good relationship building skills with various partners inside and outside the organization Professional certification such as a Government Financial Manager (CGFM) and/or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) a plus Self-starter, ability to deliver projects on time and to high standards with minimal direction and mentoring Ability to work with multiple management levels and functional departments Ability to work with customers, product, and development teams to understand, develop and translate mostly technical and architectural requirements into functional solutions Ability to present and discuss confidential and sophisticated financial issues in an eloquent and thoughtful manner to high-level officials and influence their decisions Proven knowledge of federal accounting principles and practices #LI-FTWD As a federal contractor, Workday is requiring all new hires to verify that they are fully-vaccinated against COVID-19 within 72 hours of beginning employment with Workday, consistent with applicable law.
