Leidos is looking for a Junior DevOps Systems Engineer to support the management and oversight of infrastructure for the internal Cybersecurity Intelligence & Response Team (CSIRT). The Systems Engineer's role is to support our growing set of services and tools that we provide for our analysts. In this position, you will be on the leading edge supporting custom tools to protect Leidos, an international company made up of 42,000 employees that provides Defense, Intelligence and Health Products to our customers. Our goal is to stay ahead and maintain a technical advantage over our adversaries using the latest technical advancements providing global capabilities that our Cyber Defenders use on a daily basis. While the primary role for this position is development and operations working with in a cyber-security organization, there is opportunity to gain cross-functional experience working directly with our cyber defenders to understand their mission and the capabilities they need to support the corporation. You will have opportunities to develop custom solutions using modern technologies, which include Python, Docker Containerization, Ansible Automation, CentOS/RHEL/Ubuntu. In this position, you will have the ability to grow thru training opportunities, conferences and collaboration with industry peers and adjacent parts of our business. The Operations Systems Engineer will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of infrastructure systems investments. This role will be part of a team of skilled and dedicated individuals that support our tool sets and the associated development and QA environments. Primary Responsibilities Evaluate, monitor, and troubleshoot existing server infrastructure and datacenter hardware. Administer Microsoft Server & Linux OS & associated services stack. Support current and future team projects expanding on current capabilities New Service development Enhance deployed services Responsible for infrastructure hardware, cloud assets, software, maintenance, and procurement. Monitor system resources & services to include backups, disk consumption, memory, & CPU capacity. Ensure issue resolutions are communicated, and expectations met in a timely and effective manner. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of experience in Information Technology. Additional years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree. Availability to work on-call schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary. Understanding of Microsoft OS & Linux based environments & associated services. High-level understanding of AWS cloud computing technology. High-level understanding of enterprise storage and networking fundamentals. Attention to detail, ability to both follow and/or provide written or verbal instructions without error. Self-motivated with ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Preferred Qualifications Expertise with L inux custom developed packages and modules Automation tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet Python scripting Understanding of Network stack/routing and interconnectivity Experience with large data stores such as SANS, DAS, and cloud storage
