Job Description **This position will require someone to be in driving distance to one of the following client locations: Atlanta, Boca Raton, Boston, Chicago, Greater NYC, Dallas, Denver, Kansas City, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Philadelphia, San Francisco, or the Washington DC Metro area.** Our client, a leading non-profit, is looking to hire an Engineering Manager to help augment their metadata catalog and integrate with distributed compute engines like Spark and Presto. We will accept corp to corp or w2 contractors. Responsibilities of the Engineering Manager: Define and progress the platform technology vision while meeting customer demands Develop relationships and work with business and technical leads, architects, product owners, and external vendors to ensure the team's work is aligned with organizational business goals and enterprise-level architectural standards Build high performance teams that can work independently and are highly organized Assess current software development practices continuously to identify and implement process and software improvements Provide leadership to the team including: hiring, coaching and mentoring a wide variety of software engineers at different levels Manage expectations of multiple stakeholders during planning and incremental delivery cycles Provide solutions continuously on a regular schedule and provide clear and timely communication for any upcoming changes Requirements of the Engineering Manager: At least 5 years managing software development in Financial Services or any other highly regulated environment AWS cloud experience specifically in big data processing and analytics, S3 data lakes, Java-based APIs Proven ability of developing platform solutions and running shared services in an enterprise Ability to develop strategies and solutions while becoming a trusted partner of business users and executives Experience with implementing process improvements to increase software quality and delivery Job ID: 367520 About Eliassen Group: Eliassen Group provides strategic consulting and talent solutions to drive our clients' innovation and business results.
