Job Summary/Company:

Sparks Group and a renowned global association in Alexandria, VA have partnered to find a Marketing and Communications Coordinator. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will help support the association's communications strategy and marketing efforts. This position is responsible for developing and managing content for the association's social media, email, and web platforms. The individual will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders on association-wide projects. This is a contract role working onsite in Alexandria that will allow someone to gain a lot of experience!

Marketing and Communications Coordinator Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the association's communications strategy.
  • Help identify and develop innovative messaging, advertising, marketing collateral, multi-media outreach, and campaigns in support of the association's communications strategy.
  • Generate online traffic and discussion to increase engagement across social media and networking channels.
  • Assist with developing and updating content for websites to ensure formatting and voice consistency across pages.
  • Develop and coordinate email communications using marketing automation software.
  • Assist in supporting the association's brand development and compliance to brand guidelines.
  • Monitor current digital trends to implement best practices and maintain the organization's competitive edge.
  • Track and utilize marketing analytics to understand campaign results to refine performance and drive KPIs.
  • Copy editing of marketing and communications materials.
  • Provide live social media coverage from internal and external events.
  • Provide support to conference and programmatic marketing activities to include assisting with the management of marketing calendars, strategies, and priorities.

Marketing and Communications Coordinator Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • One year of job-related experience
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Efficient task prioritization and time management skills
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Effective collaboration and teamwork skills
