The Operations Analyst is responsible for analyzing programs that align with the organization's goals and objectives. This position evaluates programs to identify improvements and measure outcomes. The Analyst also collaborates with management to identify opportunities to streamline financial and grant processes and develop new procedures that support the business unit/department. Prepares reports, documentation, surveys and/or trend analyses for internal stakeholders of data associated within the scope of position. Performs data entry, reconciliations, and quality control to ensure the integrity and accuracy of all data within the scope of position

Responsibilities

  • Assists with management and oversight of business operations for AARP Foundation programs including financial, IT, systems development and implementation, business processes and compliance, and data reporting systems and procedures.
  • Uses and analyzes data to recommend program and process improvements and to measure outcomes.
  • Assists with ensuring all contractual requirements (grant or other), audit and reporting requirements, federal regulations, and AARP Foundation policies and directives are implemented.
  • Handles project and process management.
  • Works with program management to support stakeholders (including volunteers, participants and partners).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ of experience in business and financial analysis; or an equivalent combination of training and related experience.
  • Ability to provide volunteer/customer care and communications, financial, analytical and accounting data in a large volume environment.
  • Must be able to research, investigate and resolve volunteer expense discrepancies and other financial and accounting issues.
  • Proven communication (verbal and written) skills, including strong interpersonal and presentation skills,
  • Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) knowledge to include ability to create Pivot Tables and perform V Look-Up. Experience with financial systems to perform necessary general ledger entries, payment inquiry and research.
  • Ability to work and operate in a matrix management setting, provide effective support and execution of assigned tasks.
  • Experience in grant administration and volunteer programs preferred.
  • In office/open office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise
  • Occasional travel required.

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.
