Position Information
The Department of Parks & Recreation (DPR) is seeking a temporary Visitor Center Assistant to open, staff and close the Visitor Center. This employee will interact with visitors and provide information on park and County history.

Special Requirements
A pre-employment background check will be conducted. It may include checks of the following: criminal record, driving record, education, professional licensure, and credit history. You may be required to sign a release authorizing the County to obtain your background information.

Specific duties include:
- Managing weekend duties of the park's Visitor Center to include staffing the front desk and answering public inquiries;
- Ensuring the safety and security of visitors and the building; and
- Supervising volunteers.
- Assisting with seasonal special events and programs.
Selection Criteria
Minimum:
- High school/GED; and
- Six (6) months experience in administering recreational programs or facility monitoring.
Desirable: Preference may be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- College Degree or classes in History, Recreation, Education, or related field; and
- Experience as an instructor in a school, museum, or similar educational environment.
