Advancement's mission is to build strong, lifelong relationships with George Mason University's alumni and constituents, while matching their philanthropic interests with the university's aspirations and priorities. Respect, service, integrity, collaboration, diversity, transparency, and creativity are the values that guide our work and culture.Responsibilities:The Assistant Director of Constituent Relations is responsible for working with alumni and volunteer leadership to design and implement engagement programs and activities related to the Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution. The Assistant Director of Constituent Relations is responsible for engagement, cultivation, and stewardship strategies for alumni and volunteer leadership.Duties Include:Work closely with the Director of Development and the Office of Alumni Relations to create and execute an engagement strategy with current students and over 2,000 Carter School alumni;Organize and implement events including but not limited to: Carter School Peace Week, networking events, educational panels and symposiums, Mason alumni events, and School celebrations;Manage communication to Carter School alumni through the alumni webpages, social media channels, alumni surveys, congratulatory letters, and philanthropic outreach;Support the Carter School Alumni Chapter and Carter School Advisory Board as needed; attend Chapter and Advisory Board meetings and events; andEncourage volunteer participation and facilitate engagement in School or University activities.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of training/experience;Experience in alumni relations, advancement/development, or closely related experience including demonstrated success in working with volunteers, membership development, cultivation, and stewardship;Events management skills;Program development skills;Demonstrated computer skills and familiarity with data management systems and computer software, i.e., Microsoft Office, and donor database, i.e., Advance, Salesforce;Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills;High level of organization and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously;Demonstrated interpersonal skills working with colleagues and volunteers;Ability to work both as a team member and to work independently on assigned tasks;Alumni relations or closely related experience including demonstrated success in working with volunteers, donor engagement, and/or events management;Demonstrated research skills with databases;Ability to work creatively, independently, and be a team player; andDemonstrated written and verbal presentation skills.
