Senior Manager, Platform Engineering (Remote Eligible)

We are seeking a Senior Manager of Platform Engineering who is passionate about marrying data with emerging technologies to join our team. As a Capital One Software Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One.
What You'll Do:
- Lead a team of Site Reliability Engineers are are passionate about delivering reliable, scalable, efficient, and highly available platforms
- Own the technical design and development of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems.
- Drive tactical delivery for multiple teams.
- Work with business partners, architects, and other groups to identify technical and functional needs of systems, and determine priority of needs.
- Work across organizations to coordinate the convergence of models onto the Enterprise Model Platform
- Partner with data scientists, project managers (PMs), and customers to understand the scope of work, priorities, and requirements for development.
- Enforce company policies in areas of development methodology, architecture, security, change and configuration management, compliance, and HR.
- Coordinate coding, testing, implementation and documentation of solutions
- Responsible for key system design and integration decisions; and for communicating decisions to individuals implementing the system.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least 8 years of SRE/DevOps experience
- At least 3 years of experience with a public cloud provider (AWS. GCP, Azure)
- At least 5 years of experience managing platforms through complete release cycles and working with cross-functional business and technology teams
- At least 5 years experience in people management
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across multiple engineering teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6+ years experience in Agile
- 3+ years of experience with large scale multi-tenant container orchestration platforms and services including Docker and Kubernetes
- 3+ years of experience with Kubernetes based cloud-native technologies such as argo, kubeflow, istio, linkerd, and dex.
- Familiarity with the machine learning lifecycle and machine learning technologies
