Westat is seeking a Senior Study Director to join the Large Surveys Practice (LSP). It's an exciting opportunity to bring your methodological and healthcare policy and economics expertise to play a strategic role in continuing to expand our portfolio of health and healthcare research. We are seeking a dynamic leader with a passion for mentorship and collaboration to lead and contribute to research studies, contracts, and proposals as part of a multidisciplinary team of data analysts, survey methodologists, operations managers, and social scientists.

Job Responsibilities:
• Lead key quantitative projects and studies for a variety of governmental agencies; guide and oversee analyses designed to answer research questions about health care policy topics.
• Provide subject matter and methodological expertise regarding research design and implementation, data analyses, and communicating findings to clients.
• Contribute to and lead business development efforts to expand LSP's footprint with government agencies, including leading and managing proposals and grant applications.
• Synthesize analytic results and communicate them via reports, white papers, memos, presentations, and client interactions.
• Conduct health policy research and background research to understand the policy context relevant to conducting analyses.
• Grow the LSP research team through the development of junior staff and supporting a diverse culture.
• Develop and maintain key partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to advance strategic initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:
• PhD in economics, social sciences, health care services research or another relevant quantitative discipline and 10 years of relevant experience. Experience should include leading or managing studies or large key tasks on projects for federal or state clients.
• Expertise in successfully leading and managing complex quantitative research tasks or projects.
• Expertise in relevant statistical software (SAS, Stata, SQL, R etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with AHRQ, CDC, or CMS strongly preferred.
