Fort Washington Medical Center seeks to hire a Certified Nursing Assistant on Float Pool who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

As a Certified Nursing Assistant on Float Pool you will:
• Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and according to established policies and procedures, perform various service duties and routine technical tasks such as vital signs and activities of daily living.
• Specific duties may vary by area of assignment.
• Consideration of the special needs and behaviors of specific patient populations is required.

Qualifications include:
• High School Diploma
• Successful completion of the CNA program or first year of Nursing School Program and successful completion of the CNA exam
• Certified as a Nursing Assistant by the State of Maryland and be on the State of Maryland Registry
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations
• Ability to read, write and speak English in order to communicate effectively
• Possess knowledge of standards, policies, procedures and organizational structure of the unit, the Department of Nursing and Adventist Healthcare, Shady Grove Medical Center

Work Schedule:

Work 12-hour shift/weekly, 24 hours weekend requirement in 4 week period

As a result, medical marijuana use will not be accepted as a valid explanation for a positive drug test result.

Those testing positive are given the opportunity to re-apply in 90 days, if they can truthfully attest that they have not used any nicotine products in the past ninety (90) days and successfully pass follow-up testing.
