The Controller's Office is responsible for AARP's enterprise-wide accounting activities. This includes maintaining internal controls; compliance with federal, state, and other legal reporting requirements; grants management; revenue recognition; general ledger activity; accounts payable/receivable; payroll; tax; and procurement functions to include managing strategic outsourcing, contract negotiation and supplier management.

The Financial Systems Advisor will bring extensive Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) knowledge, both functional and technical skills. The Advisor is responsible for effectively coordinating operational tasks and providing customer service and follow-through. The Advisor provides training and serves as a subject matter expert. This position is also responsible for performing testing and maintaining documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes functional/technical knowledge to maintain and improve the utilization and efficiency of the ERP.
  • Resolves incidents and tasks assigned for resolution.
  • Performs or coordinates the testing to support verification of changes and the configuration changes performed in the ERP.
  • Provides customer service and shares knowledge to users, IT and business groups.
  • Creates and updates documentation, training materials, communications, business cases, business requirements and configuration modifications as needed.
  • Performs scheduled tasks to support monthly & year-end closes and audit events.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree and minimum of 3 years experience.
  • Experience working with PeopleSoft and Microsoft Power BI.
  • Experience leading, developing and designing system requirements definition, testing, training, and implementation support, documenting requirements and/or building test cases.
  • Knowledgeable of the source-to-contract and procure-to-pay segments of procurement operations.
  • Experience providing the link between the technical and the business views of the system and ensuring that the technical solutions developed will satisfy the needs of the business.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • In-office/open office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise.

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.
