You will drive Hillel forward by thinking big, empowering students, and creating a warm and inclusive environment for Jewish life on campus. As you lead people and programs, you'll help every student on campus connect to Jewish life, learning and Israel. What You'll DoMentor student leaders in their Jewish growth through one-on-one meetings and group trainings to cultivate a caring and actively inclusive Jewish community, and supervise the student executive board and committeesOversee programmatic and engagement activities, in partnership with colleagues and student leadersServe as an advisor for our various Hillel communities such as Nazun (formerly Challah for Hunger) and the Homing Shabbat Innovation (HSI)Recruit for and facilitate the Jewish Learning Fellowship (JLF), a 10-week deep dive into Jewish identity and communityDirect the student leadership, programming, and engagement budgetsDevelop key relationships with campus professionals and student organizational partners and keep Towson Hillel in good standing with the Student Government Association (SGA)On a day to day basis you willDevelop content for a student executive board leadership development training.Have a few coffee dates with first-year students you met during move-in weekMeet with your colleagues to discuss staff deployment and expectations at upcoming events.Text and Instagram message students about upcoming events at Hillel.Purchase supplies and manage materials for an upcoming collaborative art night with a sororityCollaborate with students and other Hillel staff to develop a recruitment plan for the Jewish Learning FellowshipWhat You've Accomplished4-6 years professional experience in Jewish, experiential or higher education.Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree is a plus.Proven success in:Developing, implementing and evaluating programs.Building pluralistic Jewish communities and creating a welcoming, vibrant, and deeply enriching Jewish environmentInspiring, mentoring and motivating college age students through traditional, but also experiential educationStrategically networking and building partnerships with young adults and leaders, and using social media to effectively maintain these relationships and connectionsManaging multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality across all areasWhat You'll Bring to the JobA passion for working with emerging adults and investing in their growth as Jewish leaders.A commitment to pluralism and comfort with your Jewish identity so you may act as a role model and mentor for emerging Jewish adults.Ownership of your unique Jewish knowledge and experiences, ability to inspire others to be on a Jewish journey, and confidence creating and facilitating engaging Jewish content.Familiarity with higher education and campus settings.Comfort working independently and collaboratively.Flexibility!!Strong written and verbal skills, effective at communicating with a variety of stakeholders including students, parents, alumni, and university partners.What You'll ReceiveCompetitive salary in the nonprofit marketplace.
