Tax Senior Job Description Calibre is an established and growing public accounting firm with a 80-year history in the Washington DC, NY, IL and CA markets. We are seeking to have a Senior Tax Accountant join our growing team. As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will work on multiple tax engagements, ensuring the delivery of quality tax services to firm clients. The ideal candidate for this position will have current or recent tax experience at a public accounting firm or be graduating from a Master's program in accountancy or taxation. Strong performance in this role will open opportunities for advancement. Our offices are located in downtown Bethesda, MD. There may be occasional travel in and around the greater Washington, DC metro area. We also have openings for this position in our Chicago, IL, and New York NY offices. Tax Senior Responsibilities * Prepare federal and state income taxes for firm clients, to include individuals, partnerships, businesses, trusts, and exempt organizations. (1040, 1041, 1065, 1120, 1120S, 5500, 990, 990T, multi-state income tax returns, related amended returns, and some PPT returns) * Calculate quarterly estimated payments. * Identify, research and asses various tax issues for clients. * Draft responses to notices from the IRS and State taxing authorities * Work with other tax team members to deliver high quality tax services to firm clients, taking ownership of both process and product. * Willingness and ability to communicate directly with the client when necessary. * Ability to manage multiple client engagements, simultaneously * Stay abreast of tax laws, rules and changes * Represent the Firm in a positive and professional manner * Ability to earn the trust and confidence of clients and colleagues Tax Senior Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Taxation and EA designation or CPA Certification * 2+ years of public accounting tax experience * Proficient knowledge of Forms 1040, 1120, 1065, 1041 * Proficiency in Prosystems Engagement * Proficiency in CCH Axcess and BNA Income Tax Planner * Master's Degree in Accounting/Taxation * Prior tax experience in public accounting setting * Working knowledge of Forms 990, 5500, a plus Tax Senior Benefits: * Dental Vision and Health insurance * 401(k) and profit-sharing plans * a generous paid time off policy EEO: Calibre CPA provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.
