The Boeing Company is currently seeking a UX Software Engineer to join the Argon ST group located in Fairfax, VA. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization. We're looking for an engineer who brings fresh ideas to solve our customers' most complex problems. An ideal candidate is one who takes new capabilities, and existing capabilities, and brings them to life by pushing the boundaries of user interface design. In this position, you will design, prototype, develop, and deliver new user interfaces for Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) products for the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and allied customers. You'll work on the front-end of our products in a fast-paced environment to help bridge UX best practices and production execution. You will also contribute to collaborative, cross-functional teams where software development, firmware development, hardware design, system integration, system engineering, and user testing all occur. Our products intercept Radio Frequency (RF) signals, apply signal processing algorithms, distribute the processed results, and display them to operators. They are deployed to manned aircrafts, unmanned aircrafts, ships, submarines, and ground mobile platforms. Position Responsibilities: Participate in full life cycle software development tasks utilizing primarily React and TypeScript Participate in requirements analysis, user workflows, storyboarding, prototyping, software design, coding, unit testing, integration, installation, and support Develop new ideas based on technical and domain experience Operate in agile teams and work independently as needed to solve complex problems This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will have the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule, performing work weekly onsite and remotely. Please note that the hybrid work schedule is subject to program/business needs. This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. An interim and/or final US Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent Bachelor's degree A solid foundation in computer science, software engineering and UI/UX best practices 3+ years' experience developing user interfaces 3+ years' experience with modern JavaScript-based web application front end frameworks such as React, Vue or Angular 5+ years' software development experience in a collaborative team environment using agile principles and a structured development process including code reviews and automated DevOps processes/tools Desired Qualifications (Preferred Skills/Experience): Current Top Secret SCI clearance 1+ years' experience with TypeScript 3+ years' experience designing and developing software for complex systems such as Distributed Systems, Multi-Threaded and Multi-Process Applications, and Client-server Architectures 3+ years' experience with Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) systems Experience in image creation and editing in tools such as Adobe Photoshop, GIMP Software development in a Linux environment experience Development experience in HTML5/CSS3 and Java Typical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (eg Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (eg PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
