Duties

This internship offers students the opportunity to apply their training in the areas of international development and finance, combining both private and public sector interests. Interns will support the Real Estate Project Finance Team, focused primarily on housing and mortgage finance, but also including projects in the health care and education sectors. Responsibilities include reviewing financing proposals and financial models, assisting in market research and drafting credit memos. Interns work on tasks in any stage of the due diligence and closing process for three to six projects, depending on the team's pipeline. Internship participants will also have the opportunity to learn about transactions across a wide variety of DFC's product lines.

  • Selective Service registration required for male applicants, unless exempt
  • Must be actively enrolled (at least part-time) in an accredited college or university
  • U.S. Citizenship is required


Qualifications

Applicants must be U.S. citizens enrolled at least part-time in an accredited college or university in a graduate level program.

The ideal candidate should have a graduate level academic concentration in international finance, business, or economics. Strong written, research and oral communication skills are required. Strong ability with programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.

Some knowledge of and/or experience in real estate project finance and/or mortgage finance is desirable but not required. Individuals with initiative and the ability to work independently are preferred. A one-page writing sample will be required for interview.

Education

Must be actively enrolled in an MBA program.
