Duties

  • You will be responsible for installing, recognizing the cause of faulty equipment, and making repairs on systems that provide for a variety of air conditioning functions.
  • You will modify and relocate equipment on various special-purpose air conditioning units and systems that are frequently modified to provide specific and critical climatic conditions in laboratories and other experimental or test activities.
  • You will receive oral instructions, work orders, preventive maintenance work programs, emergency calls, specifications, schematics and maintenance procedures.
  • You will plan work, selects tools and materials and completes work with little or no check during progress or upon completion.
  • You will determine work methods, plan sequence of work and determine what repairs need to be made, and be responsible for overall accomplishment of the work and for testing the systems after repairs are completed to insure proper operation.
  • You will be responsible for safe operation of vehicle, following all safety rules and regulations and traffic signs.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
