Job Summary The primary responsibility of the position is to perform operational, compliance and financial audit testing as an engagement team member. Support engagement planning and the development and continual improvement of internal audit processes and procedures. Essential Functions First assignment is Sarbanes-Oxley testing with subsequent assignments based on skills, knowledge, and the Annual Audit Plan. Support lead auditors by providing status updates for assigned audit tasks. Assists in the development and communication of SOX and Internal Audit schedules, deadlines and expectations to process owners and management. Assists in the development of request lists for distribution to process owners and monitors to verify that all documents are received. Implements sample selection methodology. Performs basic to moderately complex audit procedures, including identifying and defining issues, developing criteria, reviewing and analyzing evidence, and documenting processes and procedures. Conducts interviews, reviews documents, composes summary memos, and prepares audit working papers. Identifies, develops, and documents audit issues and recommendations for improvement using independent judgment concerning areas being reviewed. Assists in communicating the results of audit and consulting projects via written reports and oral presentations. Documents procedures performed in audit work papers in accordance with department and professional standards. Performs follow-up procedures as necessary to clear audit review notes. Recommends operational effectiveness rating of findings with adequate support and input from the process owner. Assists in identifying and evaluating the organization's audit risk areas and provides input to the development of the risk-based SOX and annual internal audit plans. Maintains all organizational and professional ethical standards and completes all internal audit work in compliance with The IIA's International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (Standards). Develops and maintains productive team-oriented relationships through individual contacts and group meetings. Performs other tasks as assigned by audit management. Education, Experience & Skills Education and experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university. Minimum of 2 years of full-time experience in internal audit/public accounting or 3-4 years of related accounting/finance experience. CPA or CIA certification and/or candidacy is preferred. Experience in Bio-Tech or Pharma is a plus. SAP experience is a plus. Other desired skills or knowledge: Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley, PCAOB, SEC and US GAAP standards, rules, regulations and best practices Knowledge of COSO and IIA Standards and Code of Ethics. Knowledge of audit testing and work paper documentation techniques. Knowledge of business processes and best practices. Must possess good listening, writing and verbal communication skills. Must possess effective organizational, planning and analytical skills. Skill in collecting and analyzing data, evaluating information and systems, drawing logical conclusions and developing meaningful recommendations for improvement. Ability to interact and develop effective working relationships with colleagues and operational personnel at all levels of the organization. Must be flexible and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, and meet deadlines in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Must be fluent in English Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Visio).
