Engineering Technician -$60,000DIRECT HIREChantilly, VAProtech Business Solutions is seeking a System Engineering Technician for our client, a leading technology company serving the global aerospace and defense industry.Job DescriptionLead the design, development, and implementation of cost-effective methods for the troubleshooting, diagnostics and repair of electronic assemblies, components, and equipment during Production and First Article Build processes. As a member of the Operations team, you will work not only with the Operations staff and Production Assembly and Test Teams, but cross functional engineering teams to ensure designs of secure hardware and system solutions meet customer requirements and are Designed for Manufacturing (DFM). Additionally, you may work directly with Company's customers in a technical role supporting RCCA/FRACAS.Responsibilities:Leading the troubleshooting, diagnostic and repair of new products and electronic assemblies as well as any material dispositioned by the Material Review Board (MRB) for repair/reworkDocumenting all manufacturing/assembly and rework/repair actions in detail by completing required production and quality forms (paper/on-line)Analyzing test data to identify faults and recommend improvements in process or designCollaborating with the NPI, Systems Engineering and Production Test teams to design and implement diagnostic test scripts or applicationsAssisting Operations staff, Quality Management, Engineering, and the customer with RCCA/FRACAS on failure analysis, technical issues and technical presentationsProviding input back to the Operations and Production Teams during Tier I Meetings on issues affecting production fallout/RTY KPIAssisting with (may lead) training of Test Technicians, Assembly Technicians and Mechanical Assemblers.Assisting with (may lead) developing methods to capture, archive and report test dataAssisting with (may lead) automation of testing methods to improve efficiency of testing and diagnostic processesCompletion of any or all shop floor manufacturing/assembly processes as needed to include but not limited to special processes, sub-assembly and top-level assembly in accordance with operations manual, written instructions, and defined best practicesMaintaining a work environment that complies with the company's 6S programTo succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and capabilitiesA' . Associate's or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field preferred (experience and/or technical certification - CompTIA IT Fundamentals, CompTIA A+ Certification, etc. - may be considered in lieu of degree)A' . Understanding of the printed circuit board design process and printed circuit board assembliesA' . Ability to read and interpret schematics and PCB designsA' . Experience working with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic/spectrum analyzers, power supplies, multi-meters etc. (preferredA' . Skilled in using standard PCB rework tools (soldering iron, heat gun, etc.)A' . Skilled in using hand tools required for the manufacturing of wire/cable harness assembliesA' . 1 Year working experience as a Systems Test Technician or equivalent role/responsibilitiesA' . 1 Year of professional experience working in an AS9100 or ISO9000 registered facilityA' . Experience with IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001, IPC/WHMA-A-620 and IPC 7711/7721A' . Certification as a CIS (or CIT) to IPC standard IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001, IPC/WHMA-A-620 and IPC 7711/7721 or the ability to successfully obtain certification within 6-12 months of hire (required).A' . Secret Clearance or ability to obtain a Secret Clearance may be requiredA' . Comfortable working on multiple projects and tasks simultaneouslyA' .
