Our business helps support their way of life and contributes to the survival of a culture that has thrived in a challenging environment.Job SummaryIn this position, the Senior Level Paralegal will provide professional, accurate, timely, and reliable paralegal support, reporting to our federal IC client to assist their litigating section. Work products are reviewed prior to submission, however, you shall often develop these products with minimal direct supervision other than written guidelines.Responsibilities Receive, prioritize, and process requests such as document review or requests for advice or legal technical assistance; Research and locate responsive information and identify relevant laws, judicial decisions, and legal articles; Perform typical Paralegal functions, including: moderately complex legal research; synopsizing transcripts of hearings and oral arguments for attorney use; reviewing case related materials; and identifying potentially conflicting statements or areas requiring further investigation; Write preliminary drafts of legal memoranda and correspondence; Assist in preparing draft legal documents, such as motions, briefs, memoranda of law, exhibits, etc., conducting legal analysis, reviewing documents for relevance and privilege, and assisting attorneys with all phases of litigation. Minimum Qualifications Active Top Secret with SSBI and the ability to obtain SCI clearance. Five or more years of litigation paralegal experience with trial experience. One or more years of experience in litigation support. You must be able to meet all health requirements, including but not limited to, current and future vaccination requirements for infectious diseases such as COVID-19. Desired Qualifications Shall have a sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources. Shall have excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools, such as LEXIS NEXIS and Westlaw. Shall perform legal research and writing. Shall prepare legal memoranda and correspondence, Shall assist attorneys with all phases of litigation, including aiding with discovery requests and responses: reviewing documents for relevance and privilege: drafting motions and briefs: organizing exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs and appendices: and assisting at trial. Shall have excellent Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel. PowerPoint and Outlook) and hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging. Shall consistently demonstrate ability to work as part of a team and manage complex relationships with all stake-holders. Shall consistently deliver highest quality work under pressure. Shall have hands-on experience or training with ESI tools and general knowledge of e-discovery procedures and resources.
