The EA Strategy and Engagement team leads substantive and significant projects and activities to deliver value across the department and the company. The Role:

The Director of Reporting and Measurement will bring subject matter expertise in data, reporting, program measurement, and insights to enable decision making, strategy development, and performance measurement of Capital One's philanthropic work (Impact Initiative). This role will work in partnership with the Community Impact and Investing team as well as other External Affairs teams and internal line of business stakeholders.

As a Director you will:
  • Partner with internal colleagues on the development and production of a wide range of reports, data visualizations, and dashboards to improve understanding and recommend areas for additional focus
  • Support data and reporting needs for projects spanning multiple content areas primarily focused on volunteerism and philanthropy
  • Partner with program teams to define social impact measurements for the Impact Initiative work. Develop ways to gather and analyze data that captures the strategic social impact outcomes that philanthropy programs are driving. Ensure all outcome metrics and targets are consistent and aligned with corporate objectives
  • Determine and deliver accurate metrics and qualitative impacts for a variety of internal and external reporting needs. Partner across the External Affairs team to evaluate the value of external sector surveys, gather and provide data for relevant surveys and coordinate responses across the team.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the EA teams to support internal measurement and analytics. Explore and understand existing internal measurement capabilities and make recommendations to program teams on those resources, as needed. Manage external measurement vendors, including scoping work, oversight of execution and procurement processes.
  • Work as part of a team in the development and execution of strategic measurement and reporting plans, and as needed on special projects. Work collaboratively and integrate with team members including across other teams as needed. Meet deadlines and adjust to shifting priorities.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Strong track record of working with data, including grants, impact finance, and volunteerism
  • Ability to analyze a wide range of quantitative and qualitative data, and communicate outcomes in clear terms to promote understanding, action planning and decision-making
  • Outstanding attention to detail combined with an innovative and creative mindset, with the ability to thrive in an environment of high expectations
  • Proven success in a cross-functional position, including strong interpersonal and relationship management skills to ensure collaboration and continuous learning

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 6 years' experience developing measurement reporting of social impact or outcomes
  • At least 5 years' experience developing and executing data and measurement strategies

Preferred Qualifications:
  • BPM, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, problem solving and conceptual skills
  • Project Management experience
  • Intermediate or Advanced Excel/Google sheets experience
  • People leadership experience
  • Proven business relationship, communication and influencing skills
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Experience working with Cybergrants, Salesforce, Benevity or other grants/volunteer management tools
