This position will support our federal project on the Weather and Climate Infrastructure Services (WCCIS) contract, in College Park, MD.Ace Info Solutions is looking to hire Windows System Administrator to be an integral part of the day-to-day operations of a very large data center at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in College Park, MD.. NOAA observes models and delivers weather and climate data to the entire United States (CONUS and OCONUS), its territories, the waters it navigates and other related interests. The Windows System Administrator will be supporting mission-critical systems hosted on physical and virtual servers in an active clustering environment.BackgroundThe WCCIS contract supports the National Weather Service's (NWS), an agency within the Department of Commerce's National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Central Processing and Information Dissemination portfolios. The contract is managed by the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) Central Operations (NCO).WCCIS supports NCO's mission which is to deliver national and global weather, water, climate, and space weather guidance, forecasts, warnings, and analyses to a broad range of users and partners. These products and services respond to user needs to protect life and property, enhance the nation's economy, and support the nation's growing need for environmental information.Duties & Responsibilities General Windows system administration, security patching, OS upgrades, troubleshooting problems, and ensuring maximum system availability Provide customer support and ticket resolution Perform daily administration and document system infrastructure Perform system builds(physical and virtual) as well as recovery Install new applications, perform system upgrades, evaluate and install patches Resolve software and hardware related problems Monitor Active Directory and system health Perform vulnerability remediation and security hardening functions Install, configure, manage, and maintain VMware vSphere 6.0/6.5 environments. Perform patch management using Windows Server Update Services(WSUS) Create and deploy software packages/updates using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager(SCCM) Provided tier 2 and tier 3 technical support to the help desk, desktop support, and network operations center. RequirementsRequired qualifications: A BS degree in engineering, computer science, related field or equivalent demonstrated experience Six(6) or more years of relevant experience Knowledge of a variety of Windows operating systems and specific experience with Windows Server 2016 Experience with Active Directory Excellent troubleshooting skills, Knowledge of Windows Server Update Services(WSUS), System Center Configuration Manager(SCCM), and Microsoft AD tools Experience with VMware. Willing to perform on-call support Experience with Powershell scripting Ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities Excellent written and oral communication skills Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is required for the position.
