We are a restaurant. Our mission is to provide Homestyle Hoonah Hospitality for our guests and community.We are seeking a new Chef / Line Cook to join our team. Your role will be to provide Chef / Head Cook / Baker skills for 1/2 of the week with a counter part on our team! There are also significant baking hours available if skilled, We also have additional housekeeping and wait staff employment available for a significant other. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment and dedicate time to expanding our clientele base to establish the restaurant's brand and reputation.ResponsibilitiesOversee and prepare day-to-day culinary production serving approximate avg 80 -250 meals per dayLine duties during the limited hours of operationProvide catered meals when neededWork independently and lead the restaurant team when on your shift & coordinate with counterpartIdentify and request food and kitchenware needsMaintain a clean and orderly work environment & help with cleaning when neededVerify and maintain freshness and quality of ingredientsCreatively assist in the development of menu itemsHelp to standardize recipes and plate presentationsWork with management to create a memorable experience for guestsQualificationsMust be motivated, hard-working & dependableMust work long days with split shifts including overtimeSignificant previous experience and/or culinary arts education (Baking a plus)Knowledge of cost and labor systemsPassion for food and cooking techniquesStrong leadership qualities and willingness to teach team matesAbility to thrive in a sporadically fast-paced environment.As a member of the Restaurant department, you will work with Servers and Dishwasher/Prep and report to our Head Chef/Cook.What You Will DoConduct regular business reviews to ensure clients are satisfied with their products and services and identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure client satisfaction.What You Will BringOur ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant experience and the following credentials/skills:High School or GEDDegree in Culinary ArtsPortion ControlSautA$ (C) ingScratch CookingFood PlatingSeafoodSoup MakingBaking skills (prefered)Why You'll Love UsThe Icy Strait Lodge provides lodging, restaurant and bar services to the Community of Hoonah, Alaska.
