Here, you will help lead our industry forward and make your career.Job DescriptionAs a valued contributor to our team, you will consult with team members and management to provide core legal counsel and services to the business, as well as utilize your legal training and experience to guide the Company's business. In this role, you will document and enforce its legal rights, and minimize its legal risks. You will have shared responsibilities for providing legal services to the Company in the Single Family area with a focus on transactions. You will work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders across the Company in support of initiatives of significant importance and financial impact.THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKEResponsibilitiesThe Single Family Legal - Associate General Counsel - Principal role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilitiesEvaluate high-level legal and regulatory analyses and partner with business stakeholders to identify and escalate potential reputation issues to leadership.Partner with business stakeholders on negotiation and drafting contracts, disclosures, agreements, and other legal documents.Partner with business stakeholders by providing advice on counseling business clients related to important business and legal issues and initiatives.Collaborate with business stakeholders and outside counsel on issues of significance for the company.QualificationsTHE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAMMinimum Required Experience8 years of relevant experienceJuris DoctorateExceptional written and verbal communicationExceptional drafting skills (preferably in the area of complex financial, banking or real estate finance transactions)Extensive negotiation experience with sophisticated clients and counterpartiesPractical, highly responsive and organized approach to providing legal services and adviceAbility to manage complex finance transactions with a team oriented approachDesired ExperienceOneNoteAdditional InformationJob Reference ID: REF10066DIn response to COVID-19, Fannie Mae has adapted our workplace and hiring processes to better safeguard our employees, candidates, and new hires.
