PSI Pax, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Clerk III to support our government customer in Patuxent River, MD. This Full-time position will join our dynamic team in supporting the mission of the NAWCAD Comptroller. Teleworking is permitted until restrictions are lifted and employees may return back to work at the Patuxent River, NAVAIR Station.Duties & Responsibilities:Directly support the NAWCAD Comptroller Group and Accounting Department providing specialized reviews and analysis to support the continued evolution of DON Financial Improvement and Audit Remediation (FIAR) efforts to include standardized procedures, financial data analysis and system analysis of Navy ERP Provide analytical support to complete data calls from the Navy/Department of Defense Comptroller and other activities with diversified missions and requirementsProvide support for the Cost Accounting Department; the Internal Entitlement Team, processing hardcopy and electronic invoices; the Unmatched Disbursements (UMD) Team, in researching and resolving errors and billing activities; the Contractual Services Team in processing obligating documents and accruals; the Contracts Team in processing obligating documents and accruals; the Travel Accounting Team, in travel related accounting transactions; the General Ledger Accounting Department; and the Fixed Asset Accounting Team in performing physical inventory of assets and providing inventory informationCompute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records completePerform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. May also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workersPerforms a range of activities such as maintenance of general ledger, preparation of various accounting statements and financial reportsReviews, codes, and verifies transactions and journal entriesResearches and resolves financial issues and exceptionsMay assist in processing accounts payable and receivable transactions Provide support of the Government purchase card accounting processesProvide administrative support to various teams within the Accounting Department to include scanning documents, data entry support, and maintaining filing systemsOn routine assignments, employee selects and applies established procedures and techniquesRequired Qualifications:Five (5) to Seven (7)years of work experience is requiredMust possess knowledge of double entry bookkeeping in performing one or more of the following tasks:Posts actions to journals, identifying subsidiary accounts affected and debit and credit entries to be made, assigning, proper postings to balance and reconcile accounts; reviews computer printouts against spreadsheets, detecting and correcting erroneous postings, and preparing documents to adjust accounting classifications and other data, or reviews lists of transactions rejected by an automated system, determining reasons for rejections, and preparing necessary correcting transactionsMust have experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook for EmailAbility to undergo and pass a Background Investigation with eligibility to obtain a Secret Level ClearancePreferred Qualifications:Navy / NAVAIR experience is desiredExperience with NAVY ERP and/or SAP is desiredA current Non-NISP Background Investigation OR Active Secret Clearance is desiredEducation Requirements: High School diploma is requiredBachelors degree preferred (Higher education transcripts may be requested to display relevant coursework in finance/accounting)PSI Pax, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
