Proof of licenses, certifications, and/or education must be submitted with each application.Examples of DutiesUnder general supervision, performs routine community outreach duties for public health disease mitigation programs; provides education, and assists with case management. Conducts telephonic, in-home, and community-based needs assessments and makes appropriate referrals based on clients' needs. Travels extensively to client homes, community locations, various agencies, and other outreach destinations. Provides basic education and information about disease-spread in a culturally competent manner. Links clients to resources and distributes supplies to help facilitate adherence to shelter-in-place and disease containment. Reinforces disease management protocols to reduce the spread of communicable diseases. Documents client encounters and contacts made on the behalf of clients; maintains electronic spreadsheet of client encounters; completes and submits all reports within the required timeframes. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned Works collaboratively and effectively within a team, provides feedback to other members of the team. QualificationsRequired QualificationsPossession of a high school diploma or appropriate equivalentplusat least one year experience working with the public.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of English grammar. Knowledge of and sensitivity to cultural influences.Ability to learn and follow county and departmental rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; ability to establish effective working relationships with clients, public, and private agencies; ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups; ability to work flexible hours; ability to work in a variety of environments; ability to maintain documentation regarding activities; ability to maintain records, files, and reports; ability to coordinate activities; ability to maintain inventory of supplies.Licenses or CertificatesPossession of a valid driver's license equivalent to a noncommercial, class C Maryland driver's license is required at the time of appointment.Proof of Licenses, Certifications and EducationApplicants are required to submit proof of licenses, certifications and education beyond high school to meet the required and preferred qualifications of the position. Diplomas or transcripts must show the applicant's major field of study.
