Community Liaison for DC Public SchoolsThe George Washington University (GWU), the sponsoring organization, is seeking Community Liaisons for DC Public Schools (DCPS) to serve as capacity builders in elementary and middle schools in Washington, DC With a strong record of developing reciprocal, respectful, active, and democratic partnerships, GWU works with the DCPS to place AmeriCorps VISTAs in under-resourced schools across the District. The AmeriCorps VISTA Member will support the school in enhancing existing afterschool, summer school, and school-day partnerships as well as help recruit and foster new partnerships and volunteer programs that enrich students both academically and socially.
